A Little Bit About Us
Bob Spencer
Currently I have an all-instrumental CD, Carolina Dreaming, which is available throughout NC and has had some success. Also have several other CD's: Himage, An Old Fashioned Christmas, A Christmas Prayer, and (with Elizabeth) Tis So Sweet...The Season, Ain't Misbehavin...Much!, and Be Young, Be Foolish, But Be Happy. Currently working on a new CD for release Christmas 2011.
1994 – Present – Teach guitar class at Springfield Friends Meeting to Springfield Strummers, perform at churches, restaurants, country clubs, coffee houses, and rest homes – play fiddle, mandolin, guitar, piano/keyboard, harmonica and vocals. Teach private guitar and mandolin (at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point), fiddle, sax, and vocals.

1993 - 2004 – Choir director at Springfield Friends Meeting, High Point.
1977 – 1993 - Professional musician – toured 47 states with Billy “Crash” Craddock, Helen Cornelius and Jim Ed Brown, Southern Crescent, Sundance, and Johnny Fisher, a Willie Nelson impersonator (among many others).
Some highlights of this period:
Played on “Hee Haw” – 1980
Played “Jamboree in the Hills” in front of 500,000 people and was broadcast on Showtime to 7 million – 1980
Played for Virginia Governor’s Inauguration – 1984
Had No. 1 country music hit in New York City – “Peaches” – 1985
Played on Grand Ol’ Opry 23 times – 1987-88
Bob plays a Taylor T-5 electric/acoustic guitar through a Digitech Vocalist, Digitech RP-200, and Digitech JamMan directly into Mood Swingz P.A. system consisting of powered speakers, sub-woofers when necessary, and a Yamaha mixer. Other instruments include a Gemeinhardt flute, Ovation electric/acoustic mandolin, Fender Strat, and several Hohner Golden Melody harmonicas. He has been known on occasion to pull out his vintage fiddle, soprano or tenor sax, and also is adept at kazoo.
Elizabeth Spencer
2006 - Present - Plays bass with Mood Swingz.
1992 - Present - Plays bass, guitar, banjo, and sings with Springfield Strummers, performs at churches and rest homes.
Elizabeth plays a Rogue viola style bass (Paul McCartney model) through a Zoom 505-II pedal into a SWR bass amp with DI into the P.A. system. She also has an Ashbory bass.
Alesis SR-16
2006 - Present - Plays drums with Mood Swingz, has played in rest homes, restaurants and coffee houses, keeps perfect time, NEVER late or drunk. Alesis plays himself (he doesn't need anything else!).
